Thanks to increasing pollution levels, air purifiers have been quite in demand to combat disease-inducing pollutants in the air. Further expanding its range of air purifiers, Xiaomi has now introduced the Mi Air Purifier 3 which is an upgraded version of the Mi Air Purifier 2S that launched last year.
The Mi Air Purifier 3 boasts of a cylindrical design that sucks in air from all sides and throws out clean air from the top. It has a 3-layer filtration system that includes a primary filter, a HEPA filter and an activated carbon filter. The primary filter intercepts large particles (PM10 and above), the HEPA filter eliminates small pollutants (PM2.5) with an efficiency of 99.97%, and the carbon filter is capable of ridding the air of formaldehyde, toxic substances and bad odour. The air purifier has a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of 380m³/h and a coverage area of up to 484ft2, both of which are marked improvements when compared to the Mi Air Purifier 2S.
The front of the purifier also boasts of a circular touch-enabled OLED display that indicated a range of information like PM2.5 levels, temperature and humidity. You can also switch between different modes and choose amongst different fan speeds. The air purifier also has a dedicated night mode that keeps the noise level at 32 decibels. Although the air purifier doesn’t come with a remote, it can be controlled via WiFi with the Mi Home application.
The Mi Air Purifier 3 is priced at INR 9,999 and goes on sale from November 7 on Amazon and Flipkart. The air filter can be purchased from mi.com for INR 2,199. The Mi Air Purifier 2S now costs INR 8,999. Xiaomi recently unveiled a cheaper air purifier, the Mi Air Purifier 2C that costs INR 6,499 and comes with a dual filtration system.
